2019 Saw the introduction of the Sandy Santa Fun Run, we had 91 runners enter the first one. You have the choice of the 5k or 2k routes and this run is based around fun! The Sandy Santa for 2020 will be no different with a few tweaks, a few new ideas we have had to make it bigger, better and even more fun than last year!

We want to be different from the normal runs, we want more Westward Ho! spirit in this run...

In 2019 we added the Sandy Santa run, this was stunning with just under 100 people in festive fancy dress running back into the village. In 2020 we have picked all the best bits from previous years then condensed it into what should be an amazing 3 hours of festive fun.

Westward Ho! Ho! Ho! is our family celebration just before Christmas. We hold this one every year to kick off the festive season with some Westward Ho! spirit and style. It is held on the village green (weather permitting) and contains winning elements like The Sandy Santa fun run, live music, crazy elfs, Father Christmas, street food and the Big Sing.

So, what going on?:- 

15.00-15.30 - SANDY SANTA REGISTRATION - Look for the stage and listen for the music, there you will find the event tent to be able to book on this event.

15.30-16.30 - SANDY SANTA 2k/5k RUN - Work off the Christmas turkey before it's even gone on! Join us for the second Westward Ho! Sandy Santa Fun Run. Beginning on the beach by the slipway and running along the beach, over the burrows then back to the prom where you will finish by the main stage. This is Westward Ho! plus it's Christmas, it would be rude not to don the festive fancy dress!

Entrance fee £10. ALL competitors get a unique "Sandy Santa" T-Shirt. For the festive winners we have Dartington Crystal engraved glass bowls for 1st, 2nd and 3rd 5k and 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2k. This is picked on athletic ability, Christmas spirit and fancy dress. You will ALL go down in Westward Ho! History!

Westward Ho! is the most amazing venue for many sports with it's wide open beaches, fresh air and spirit.  As part of the Westward Ho! Ho! Night we will be hosting the FIRST ever Westward Ho! Sandy Santa 5k fun run.

Starting on the beach by the slipway and running along the beach then back into the village to the finish line, by the main stage. 

This will help blow away the cobwebs and get you ready for Christmas Westward Ho! style. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd adult places. Kids prizes is best fancy dress, most spirited athlete of the day and most fun had. You will get Dartington Crystal engraved bowls, all entries receive a Westward Ho! Sandy Santa T-Shirt.
